Direct-Out Breakout

The Direct-out Breakout is a PCB that you can add to the current circuit of your mixing desk / table.
This circuit ensures that you add an (extra) Direct-out output to your system with which you can bridge large lengths of cable with minimal signal/quality loss. Direct-outs have a balanced output and must therefore also be linked to a balanced input at the receiving party.

Please note: the location where you connect the Signal in of the Direct-Out Breakout in the circuit of your current mixer will affect the output behavior of your Direct-Out Breakout.
Depending on your placement, you can let your Direct-Out respond to your Gain (and / or EQ) on your channel. The placement and connection of this Breakout requires some knowledge of the mixer in which you add this PCB. If you have questions when mounting it you can always contact me via the contact form on this site and I will try to reply as soon as possible.

The dimensions of the Direct-Out Breakout PCB are 29*17 mm.

This circuit uses the Texas Instruments DRV135UA (Texas Instruments Datasheet).
Below are some of the main specs of the device copied from the TI datasheet.

  • Balanced Output
  • Low Distortion: 0.0005% at f = 1 kHz balanced output pair.
  • Wide Output Swing: 17Vrms into 600 Ω
  • High Capacitive Load Drive precision resistors.
  • High Slew Rate: 15 V/µs
  • Wide Supply Range: ±4.5 V to ±18 V
  • Low Quiescent Current: ±5.2 mA

At this moment there is no DC-Offset capacitor in line from the Signal_in to Vin of the DRV135UA. This is usually not necessary, depending on the location in the circuit where you add this breakout.

The use of electronic and / or other (non-)downloadable products offered on this site are entirely at your own risk. These products are sold as a prototype / test unit and not as a fully certified product that you can purchase from a company. The order you place is currently placed with a private person and not with a company. I can therefore not guarantee anything except that I keep my own safety and the quality of the designs and products in mind during the complete process of designing, and testing if needed.
I deliver the products tested but without warranty or certificate and they are made to order. If you want to assemble the print yourself, you can do this too, this would cost you less.
The more you order from these Breakouts, the lower the price per Breakout will be, this applies to both assembled and loose as components.

If you own one of my products and something has gone wrong and / or you have recommendations for improvements and / or other designs, please contact me via the contact form on my site and I will reply as soon as possible.
